Position Summary

 The Pest Control Technician is responsible for performing quarterly exterior pest and disease control applications, monitoring landscapes for signs of infestation, and implementing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices to maintain healthy trees, palms, turf, and ornamentals. This role ensures safe, effective, and environmentally responsible pest management in alignment with Encompass standards and all state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quarterly pest control treatments to suppress populations of harmful insects and plant diseases.
  • Conduct surveillance and inspections to identify pest activity, turf discoloration, or plant health concerns.
  • Apply pesticides only when necessary and approved, following IPM guidelines to minimize environmental impact.
  • Document pest control applications, including locations treated, products used, and application methods.
  • Coordinate with Encompass supervisors for access, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, including proper handling of pesticides and use of PPE.
  • Respond to emergency or special pest control service requests as directed.
  • Submit written reports after each service, detailing findings, treatment performed, and follow-up recommendations.
  • Work closely with the account manager to support monthly quality checks and corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • State certification for Commercial Pest Control Application (required).
  • Minimum 2 years of pest control experience, preferably in commercial or large-scale facilities.
  • Knowledge of IPM principles, safe pesticide handling, and application techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail in identifying pest/disease risks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Good communication and recordkeeping skills.
