JOB OVERVIEW:
Under close supervision of the Office Manager, performs a variety of routine and specialized cashier and clerical work requiring advanced knowledge of Transfer Site paperwork and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Will weigh or estimate weight of all solid waste entering facility. Will collect disposal fees from customers not having a credit account. Will screen solid waste loads as they enter the facility and direct the vehicles to the proper unloading area. Will assist on payments from the account holders and assist with account totals owing.
Receives telephone and personal callers, handling any questions or matters of a routine nature and directing others to the appropriate staff members in a courteous and professional manner. Will conduct periodic surveys and distribute information and pamphlets concerning Weber County Solid Waste programs and operations. Performs all daily functions as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Education: High School graduation or equivalent,
Experience: One (1) year working with the public and one (1) year working in an Accounting/Cash Handling position.
An acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):
Knowledge: Working knowledge of department rules and regulations. Ability to make mathematical computations. Working knowledge of specialized duties required by the position.
Skills and Abilities to: Skill in using assigned equipment. Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions. Ability to accurately maintain billing records and customer accounts. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and sometimes hostile general public with excellent communication skills.
YOUR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to count money and make change accurately.
Must be willing to work ten hour shifts which include weekends and holidays.
