Job Summary:  

The iC.A.R.E. Professional Mentor Coordinator is a systems developer and community-based, mobile individual responsible for providing program specific supportive services to partners, mentors, mentees, families, etc. who are participants in the iC.A.R.E. Mentoring® program. Services are directed towards program efficiency, growth and development of program metrics and program participants. The purpose/intent of the i.C.A.R.E Professional Mentor Coordinator is to provide specific, measurable, and individualized services to each program participant served.


Supervisory Functions and Duties:

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.


Essential Functions and Duties:

  • Engage and mentor a mentee once per week for the duration of the school year with the intent of returning for a second year. 
  • Engage mentee with activities that allow for rapport building, conversation, and mentor/mentee relationship development. 
  • Build relationships with other mentors, facility staff, and mentee parents for efficient delivery of program services.
  • Become familiar with the Game Plan curriculum. 
  • Respect the mentee’s safety and privacy, and the privacy of the family. 
  • Follow the guidelines listed in the mentor service agreement. 
  • Complete weekly mentor reports and maintain C.A.R.E Mentoring and facility logbooks. 
  • Regularly communicate with the Mentor Coordinator, including phone calls, texts, emails. 
  • Notify the Mentor Coordinator if the mentorship meeting must be canceled or rescheduled. 
  • Notify the Mentor Coordinator of any updates for contact change, need for Lending Library Material(s), or other resources. 
  • Participate in Mentor Professional Development(s), annual mentor training, and Mentor Survey.
  • Participate in Family Engagement events. 
  • Participate in the MAR (Mentor Appreciation Reception). 
  • Complete a ‘Child Maltreatment Incident Report form’, if necessary, and contact school staff to call SCCS. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education, social work, communications, organization

management or related field. School-based, Nonprofit, and/or behavioral health experience, highly

preferred. Possession of a valid Ohio driver’s license. Successful completion of primary and annual background check.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment and in the community. While performing the duties of this position in the office, this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and fax machines. The employee may travel to nearby locations for meetings or visits to work sites and be exposed to changing weather conditions.
