Our St. Henry Harvesting plant in Mercer County, Ohio, prepares the turkeys for further processing and distribution. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a Quality Service Manager to join our team in St. Henry.
The individual in this position will oversee all aspects of Quality Services and assist in the continual improvement of plant operations. We are looking for someone to provide leadership in a fast-paced environment while safely meeting production goals. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with people at all levels to strive towards continuous improvement is a must in this position.
SHIFT HOURS: Monday through Friday (salary role)
STARTING RATE: Commensurate with experience
ADDITIONAL PAY: Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)
Job Functions:
- Supervise and direct the tasks of all Quality Services team members, including those who are plant and laboratory technicians
- Source out customer complaint causes and follow up with customer
- Maintain good relations with USDA, customers, vendors, management, and other team members
- Write and maintain the BRC program, laboratory procedures, SOPs, HACCP program, lotting/recalls, and GMPS
- Maintain physical, chemical, and microbiological standards
- Troubleshoot plant operations and advise plant management. This can include blueprints, operating procedures, new product lines, equipment, USDA regulations, etc.
- Make final decisions on marginal quality products
- Advise company personnel in USDA regulations and company operating procedures and policies
- Assist in the research and development in new product lines
- Write up company product specifications and continually update and monitor for accuracy
- Keep current on lab procedures and implement procedures as needed
- Set and meet goals in a timely manner
- Prepare reports that assist the company in operations
- Set and maintain departmental budget
- Ensure that all proposed labels, products, and operating procedures are consistent and comply with USDA regulations
- Demonstrate an active interest in producing quality products and services
