We are seeking a Systems Team Lead – Hose Assembly to guide our hose assembly team in delivering top-tier products that meet rigorous defense industry standards. The Systems Team Lead – Air Hose Assembly is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the hose assembly work cell. This individual will lead a team of assemblers in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met. The Team Lead is a hands-on leader who coordinates workload, troubleshoots issues, reports progress through the ERP system, and backfills on the assembly floor as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the daily activities of a team of hose assemblers to meet production schedules and delivery targets.
- Interpret and work from engineering prints, schematics, and technical documentation to ensure accurate assembly.
- Accurately report production data and material movements using the company ERP system.
- Manage and prioritize workload within the hose assembly cell to optimize output and efficiency.
- Operate equipment including saws, pressure test tanks, and printers in accordance with safety and quality guidelines.
- Monitor and enforce all safety standards; actively contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Support process improvements and Lean initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and drive quality.
- Perform hands-on hose assembly work as needed to support team productivity and meet demand.
- Train and mentor team members on best practices, procedures, and company standards.
- Collaborate with quality, engineering, and planning teams to resolve issues and maintain production flow.
- Ensure all products meet or exceed quality standards required for defense applications.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in hose assembly or a related manufacturing role, preferably within the defense or aerospace industry.
- 1+ years of leadership or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Familiarity with ERP systems for production reporting and inventory management (e.g., SAP, Oracle, IQMS).
- Experience operating production machinery and tools, including saws, test tanks, and labeling/printing equipment.
- Strong understanding of quality control principles and defense manufacturing standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods in a production environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Prior experience in a Department of Defense (DoD) production environment.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards.
