Intermountain Electronics is hiring an experienced Vice President of Supply Chain based out of its Price, Utah location.  This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the supply chain across our four U.S. manufacturing facilities. This includes leading our procurement and supply chain strategy, ensuring excellence in supplier management, logistics, and operational efficiency.


This is a hybrid role with at least three days per week required in office at the Price, Utah facility.    

  

Essential Duties:  Other Duties as Assigned 


Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Management

  • Defines and implements a comprehensive supply chain strategy that supports the company’s growth.
  • Drives integration of supply chain strategy with engineering, operations, sales, and finance functions to support customer demand and product innovation.
  • Standardizes supply chain processes across all four facilities, creating a consistent, scalable operating model.
  • Assesses current supply chain performance and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, resiliency, and responsiveness.
  • Leads annual supply chain planning, including budgeting, capacity forecasting, and long-range resource planning.
  • Monitors market trends, raw material pricing, and global supply dynamics to proactively adjust sourcing and procurement strategies.
  • Represents the supply chain organization as part of the executive leadership team, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Develops and implements sourcing strategies for electrical components, metals, wiring, switchgear, and related equipment critical to manufacturing.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with key domestic and international suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness.
  • Negotiates complex, high-value contracts that achieve cost savings while reducing risk and ensuring long-term supplier commitments.
  • Evaluates and qualifies new suppliers to mitigate supply chain risk and expand the company’s sourcing options.
  • Establishes supplier performance metrics and conducts regular business reviews to ensure quality, delivery, and compliance standards are met.
  • Drives supplier development initiatives, including joint cost-reduction projects and quality improvement programs.


Operations and Logistics

  • Oversees end-to-end supply chain operations, including planning, sourcing, logistics, and distribution.
  • Optimizes inventory management to balance working capital with the availability of critical materials and finished goods.
  • Implements advanced demand forecasting and material planning tools to ensure alignment with production schedules.
  • Ensures reliable supply chain performance to meet strict delivery requirements for large-scale projects.
  • Establishes contingency plans for supply disruptions, natural disasters, or geopolitical risks that could impact operations.
  • Champions adoption of technology and automation tools to improve visibility and traceability across the supply chain.


Team Leadership and Development

  • Directly leads senior supply chain leaders and indirectly oversees the entire supply chain team across all facilities.
  • Establishes clear roles, responsibilities, and career development paths for all team members to build a high-performing organization.
  • Fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Mentors supply chain leaders on best practices in procurement, negotiations, logistics, and supplier relationship management
  • Encourages cross-functional collaboration with sales, engineering, quality, and operations to ensure the supply chain is fully integrated into business decisions.
  • Drives change management initiatives to adopt standardized tools, processes, and systems across all sites
  • Recognizes and rewards team contributions to reinforce engagement and retention of top supply chain talent.
  • Develops strategies within the department to retain top talent, including employee recognition programs, clear career progression paths, and opportunities for professional development. 


Performance and Compliance 

  • Defines and tracks KPIs, including cost savings, on-time delivery, supplier quality, inventory turns, and working capital metrics.
  • Establishes standardized reporting and dashboards to provide real-time visibility into supply chain performance.
  • Collaborates with Quality and Engineering teams to ensure suppliers meet technical specifications and safety standards for electrical equipment.
  • Conducts risk assessments and implements corrective actions to strengthen supply chain resiliency.
  • Regularly reports to executive leadership on performance, risks, and opportunities within the supply chain.

Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business management, engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (CPSM or CIPS) preferred. Ten plus years' experience in procurement, preferably in a field with exposure to electrical equipment, data centers, or manufacturing, with a minimum of five years in a leadership role.; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  •  Ability to analyze large amounts of data to better understand purchasing trends, cost savings, price fluctuations, tariff impacts, discounts, etc.
  • Subject matter expert in Excel and other reporting tools to uncover opportunities and establish priorities.  
  • Expertise in EOQ, ROP, Safety Stock, Demand Forecasting and/or other inventory management models.
  • Epicor ERP experience preferred.  
  • Ability to effectively present information and answer questions from a wide variety of diverse audiences. 
  • Strategic mindset with a demonstrated ability to convert that to hands-on execution and results.
