The Part Time - Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of all guest rooms, meeting spaces, and hotel facilities. This role ensures that all systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.) are operating efficiently and safely, in accordance with Hyatt’s and Avions brand standards and local/state regulations. The technician will respond to guest requests and service calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.


Part TimeEvening Shift 3pm - 11pm


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and repair work on hotel equipment and systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical components.
     
  • Respond to guest room and public space service calls in a timely manner.
     
  • Conduct daily property walk-throughs to identify maintenance issues and safety hazards.
     
  • Repair and maintain guest room equipment, including lighting, televisions, A/C units, and bathroom fixtures.
     
  • Assist in maintaining all building systems: boilers, chillers, elevators, pumps, and fire safety equipment, etc.
     
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop and storage areas.
     
  • Complete work orders and maintenance logs accurately and on time using the hotel’s maintenance software or tracking system.
     
  • Comply with all safety and security procedures, including OSHA standards.
     
  • Support special projects, renovations, and seasonal maintenance needs as directed by management.
     
  • Work collaboratively with other departments (e.g., Housekeeping, Front Office) to resolve guest concerns.

     

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade or technical school certification preferred.
     
  • Minimum 1–2 years experience in a maintenance or engineering role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
     
  • Working knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
     
  • HVAC certification or EPA certification a plus NOT required.
     
  • Ability to work with tools, power equipment, and machinery safely and efficiently.
     
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
     
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
     
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
     
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
     

Working Conditions:

  • Indoor and outdoor work environments, sometimes in extreme temperatures.
     
  • Standing, walking, and manual labor for extended periods.
     
  • Use of protective gear and safety equipment as required.
