At Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center, a proud Critical Access Hospital, we're committed to delivering high-quality care in the heart of our rural community. We're looking for a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) who brings both technical expertise and compassionate care to the operating room.
In this essential role, you’ll collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and endoscopy staff to ensure safe, efficient, and effective procedures—from general surgery to specialty and GI cases.
Pay Range: $25.05-$35.11 per hour based on experience and qualifications
Requirements
What You'll Do:
- Serve as an expert in sterile surgical technique, instrumentation, and case preparation
- Anticipate the surgeon’s needs throughout procedures to ensure smooth and timely surgeries
- Identify and respond to breaks in sterile technique, maintaining safety at all times
- Set up and maintain surgical and endoscopy instruments and equipment
- Assist circulating nurses and physicians throughout procedures, including endoscopy
- Perform sterile processing (SPD) responsibilities: sterilize instruments, maintain accurate counts, and document endoscope use
- Promote a patient-first environment—protecting dignity, safety, and autonomy
- Maintain accurate logs and ensure clean, ready-to-use GI procedure rooms
Minimum Required Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma required.
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program.
- CST Required
- Minimum of two years’ work experience in general surgery and/or specialized surgery specialties is required.
- Sterile Processing experience preferred

• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees and administration
Note: An acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted.
Necessary Special Requirements: Must obtain annual flu vaccination and any job-specific immunizations. Required to submit to a tuberculosis screening process.
Licenses or Certificates: Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification.
Unusual Demands: Work is subject to recurring and inflexible deadlines and frequent interruptions.
