Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting and finance functions by maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with audits and month-end close processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
  • Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Maintain and update fixed asset schedules, verifying proper depreciation entries are booked and providing support to the business on related questions
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
  • Participate in internal and external audits
  • Document and update SOP’s accordingly

Requirements

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics D365, AS400, Agvance).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Communication skills within all levels of the organization
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
