Registered Nurse (RN)

Status/FTE: FT / 0.8-1.0 FTE

Shift length: 10 hours

Start Time: 0700

Unit: PACU

Schedule Requirements (including weekends, holidays): Four (4) 10-hour shifts and on-call rotation.

 

Required qualifications: 

  • Current state RN license
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider upon hire
  • ACLS and PALS within six (6) months of hire
  • Two (2) years recent PACU experience

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • BSN
  • CPAN certification
  • One (1) year acute adult/critical care/ICU exp within last 3 years

 

Additional Information/Department information: The RN utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of patients from admission to the department through discharge or transfer. Provides expert care and education to patients in the PACU setting, acts as a patient advocate, leader, and mentor for assistive personnel. The RN is knowledgeable in clinical surgical procedures, disease processes, interventions, PACU supplies and equipment and pharmacological agents.
