The Director, MSAT Bio Americas Network is responsible for establishing and shaping local MSAT organizations across applicable sites to steer, develop & maintain technical and scientific competencies, excellent prevention and troubleshooting management and critical mass of expertise across the Global Supply AH network. This role will drive the implementation of new technologies/materials/methods to establish state of the art and innovative processes es well as ensuring harmonized standards across the Global AH Supply network in close collaboration with AH Global Innovation.

In close interaction with GFE, the Director, MSAT Bio Americas Network leads optimization of the engineering aspect of Bioprocess Design across applicable sites, inclusive of benchmarking and continuous improvement mindset within the network. The incumbent will drive and steer appropriate NPD support and tech transfers from Global Innovation and within the AH Global Supply network. This role directs and execute strategic projects and programs including but not limited to technical transfers and new product developments.

The Director, MSAT Bio Americas Network is responsible for the oversight of the scientific-technical training of relevant scientific, engineering, and production organizational groups within the network/region. This role has overall responsibility of aligning MSAT strategies and budget with the global network/region and KPIs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Directs a team of Tech Transfer, BioProcess Engineering and Technical Training experts to steer, develop, and maintain technical/scientific projects, programs, tech transfers, tech training across the network/region.
  • Establishes and maintains the overall strategy and planning of the local site MSAT teams to ensure identification and implementation of MSAT improvements according to clearly defined expectations and requirements.
  • Effective partnership with local Site Heads and MSAT leadership to ensure MSAT initiatives are integrated with Global Supply business plans and strategies, regulatory agencies, and established global and local BI processes and practices.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing MSAT roadmap including financial targets and personnel resources.
  • Evaluates and recommends MSAT projects/programs within the sites and/or network and/or Global Innovation that support process improvement and efficiencies.
  • Benchmarks internal skills and performance to ensure appropriate support of MSAT initiatives and improvements; adjusts accordingly.
  • Develops visibility outside of organizational unit and strategically partners Key Opinion Leaders within the network/region.
  • Develops and executes a clear and compelling MSAT improvement strategy in partnership with local, regional and global stakeholders.
  • Responsible for supporting the local MSAT organizations in the development of new methodologies, technologies, materials, and methods to establish innovative processes across the Global Supply network.
  • Ensures the right technologies are available at the right site at the right time to enable robust, reliable product supply, launch, and life cycle.
  • Responsible for delivering a winning vision that is aligned with the overall global MSAT strategy.
  • Oversees and steers implementation of new modalities (e.g. Biotherapeutics) and their required engineering, technical and scientific capabilities within the network/region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, in relevant Science (Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field), Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain, Business or related field with a minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience steering, developing, and/or maintaining technical/scientific projects, programs, tech transfers, tech training, manufacturing quality, and/or related expertise within a regulated operations organization or similar environment.

OR

  • Master degree or Ph.D. in relevant Science (Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field), Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain, Business or related field with a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience steering, developing, and/or maintaining technical/scientific projects, programs, tech transfers, tech training, manufacturing quality, and/or related expertise within a regulated operations organization or similar environment.
  • Professional Certification in scientific field, engineering, or project Management preferred. 
  • Professional track record of experience in Scientific and Operational functions (Research, Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering) with increasing skills and responsibilities.  Longtime experience in a combination of these areas.
  • Professional track record of direct management or project management experience with increasing responsibilities and/or complexity, geographically dispersed teams, and diverse technical & cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience working within regulated environments such as FDA, EMA, & EPA required.
  • Fluency in English required – additional skills in German, French, Portuguese or Chinese are an asset.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Strong international/intercultural negotiations skills.
  • Proven experience in working in international / multi-cultural teams required.
  • Experience in Agile Management preferred.
  • Proven experience in different Operations Functions and in other AHBU Functions or similar activities.
  • Proven experience in multiple Sites or Businesses preferred.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
