Job Summary
We are looking for passionate geoscientists to join our Interpretation Team at Viridien. In this role, you will contribute directly to Velocity Model Building (VMB) by performing seismic interpretation and providing essential geological support to Processing and VMB teams.
From picking horizons to building velocity scenarios, you will work at the intersection of geology, geophysics, and advanced imaging tools, helping to transform complex seismic data into meaningful insights. Your work will play a critical role in delivering high-quality results to our clients and shaping decisions across energy and earth-data projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform seismic interpretation for VMB, including horizon picking (unconformities, salt horizons, pre-salt);
- Create local velocity scenarios;
- Apply imaging tools, workflows, and data QC (attributes, velocities, maps);
- Integrate geological and geophysical data for deeper insights;
- Engage directly with clients to present results and understand their perspectives.
About the Team:
You will join a diverse group of interpreters, geologists, and geophysicists who collaborate closely with Processing and VMB teams. Together, we tackle complex challenges, share knowledge, and drive innovation in seismic imaging. Qualifications:
- Master’s or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or related field; or equivalent professional experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Solid background in seismic interpretation, exploration geology, stratigraphy, or basin analysis.
- Strong geophysical knowledge (seismic attributes, AVO, reservoir characterization, quantitative interpretation, well data QC/processing).
- Ability to integrate data across scales (well, seismic, potential data).
- Good understanding of seismic imaging and prospect assessment.
- Experience with Pre-Salt or Brazilian Equatorial Margin is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Effective communication and presentation skills in English.
- Python programming is a plus.
