We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated candidate for the role of Process Chemist to join our Process Development team. Process Chemists are responsible for the development of highly intensified, safe, robust, and sustainable manufacturing processes as well as for the transfer of the process from the laboratory to pilot and production scale.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize pharmaceutical processes from lab scale to production scale, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality of the product.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with R&D, Analytical Development, Quality, and Production teams to ensure seamless process development and implementation at scale.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including development reports, manufacturing process descriptions, and batch records.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues during scale-up and production to maintain timely operations.
  • Establish and maintain a strong relation to the customer over the whole project life cycle.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in pharmaceutical manufacturing technologies to continuously improve processes.
  • Contribute to route scouting and re-design of routes for cost evaluations and to support cost calculations.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in process development within the CDMO pharmaceutical industry is preferrable.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous manufacturing technologies and their application in pharmaceutical production is preferrable.
  • Proficiency in multivariate data analysis and statistical software (e.g., JMP, Minitab) is preferrable.
  • Excellent knowledge in synthetic organic technologies.
  • In-depth understanding of thermal process safety and related regulatory requirements is preferrable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and proactively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in both German and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.

Your performance is remunerated with an attractive and market-compliant salary. For this position we provide according to the collective agreement of the Austrian Chemical Industry a minimum salary of € 59781,96 per year.
