About the role
Our control operations team is currently seeking an Engineer Control Systems to join them based at our Integrated Remote Operations in Perth. Reporting to the Superintendent Control Systems, you will develop, maintain, and support all control systems and equipment, and drive equipment reliability and operational effectiveness across our processing plant. Working a 4/5; 5/4; 5/5 day and night shift roster, this role will also provide technical support to the site-based operations teams.
Note: This position will be engaged through a labour hire partner on a contractor arrangement for a 12-month period.
Duties
- Deliver control systems support to maintain the safety, reliability, and availability of all process plant equipment
- Investigate the root cause of plant downtime related to control systems and identify improvement opportunities
- Deliver control systems design, programming and commissioning for improvement projects and optimisation of plant performance
Skills and experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Electrical, Control Systems, Mechatronics or Computer Science) or electrical trade qualifications with further control systems studies/ experience
- PLC systems experience (Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/ CompactLogix preferred) and SCADA systems experience (Rockwell Automation PlantPAx preferred)
- Processing plants and/ or port operations experience within a mining operations environment
- Experience working with balance machines (stackers, reclaimers, ship loaders), car dumpers, anti-collision systems (ACS) and stockpile management systems (SMS) preferred
