 About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will provide professional counseling services to individuals, groups, and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges. You will play a key role in implementing a consistent and high-quality program aligned with our agency’s mission, ensuring services meet clinical best practices, contract requirements, and person-centered care principles.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, and coordination of care.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including consents, assessments, ISPs, and therapy notes.
  • Deliver counseling services based on medical necessity and appropriateness.
  • Involve family members or other supports in the treatment process.
  • Assess risks and determine needs related to acuity, safety, and participation in treatment.
  • Support clients in accessing community resources and services.
  • Provide culturally sensitive and integrated counseling services.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans.
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Stay current on developments in the behavioral health field.
  • Meet documentation and productivity standards.
  • Ensure confidentiality, ethical compliance, and coordination across care teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a Behavioral Health field (Counseling, Social Work, Psychology).
  • At least 1 year of full-time experience (including internship) in behavioral health.
  • Active Arizona licensure with AZBBHE (LMSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC, LAAC, or LIAC).
  • Ability to obtain a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card within 8 weeks of hire.
  • Strong knowledge of DSM criteria, community resources, psychotropic medications, crisis intervention, and clinical methods.
  • Experience working with individuals with serious mental illness, substance use concerns, or co-occurring disorders.
  • Must meet credentialing and agency personnel requirements.

  • Proficiency in conducting assessments and creating evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic methods and interventions.
  • Excellent communication (oral, written, electronic) and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassion, cultural sensitivity, flexibility, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work effectively in an EMR system and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong organizational skills with dependable time management and initiative.
