IT Support- Public Information Officer

Union County Educational Services Commission is a public school district in Westfield, NJ, that was established to provide cost-effective educational programs and services for the twenty-one school districts in Union County.
The Commission is currently seeking a part-time IT Support- Public Information Officer to oversee the district website and facilitate other social media outlets to keep families and the community informed on district news, events, and initiatives.
Description:
* Part-Time, 10-Month Position
* 8:00 - 3:30 p.m. (flexible schedule)
* Salary: $ 23.00- $37.00 hourly (not to exceed 29 hours a week)
Qualifications:
- Earned High School Diploma. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience using social media and/or other electronic media for brand awareness and impressions.
- Excellent knowledge of social media and best practices in utilizing social media.
- Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including grammar, punctuation, spelling, and proofreading.
- Proficiency with Finalsite Website and Communications Platform and best practices for maintaining a district website.
- Good time management.
Sample Responsibilities: - Serve as the social media manager.
- Oversee district social media programs for all departments.
- Develop visual representations of school district information to keep the public informed on district news, events, and initiatives.
- Anticipate and prepare for new trends.
- Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technology.
- Meet with key staff to discuss new content.
- Oversee the design and implementation of a robust and engaging website that serves to inform students, parents, staff, and the community about district schools and programs.
- Recruit input and feedback concerning the content and display of web pages and social media sites through regularly scheduled meetings with principals, directors, and all other staff.
- Coordinate the preparation, design, and posting of all district publications, new releases, current events, and other information to highlight student accomplishments.
- Provide guidance and feedback to the media liaisons in all aspects of their jobs.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
