Thanks for stopping by! We’re Doctor Care Anywhere: a leading digital platform, with a clear vision to be the primary care provider of choice for digital healthcare – and that all starts with our brilliant team.

We are the UK’s largest private provider of telehealth services. We work with insurers, healthcare providers and corporate customers to provide healthcare services to more than 2 million patients every year. From doctors and designers to software developers and marketers – we’re proud of our people, who love working together to enhance patient experiences for the better. It’s why every year, we help over 2 million people speak to a GP or ACP by video or phone, anywhere in the world.

Our story started back in 2013, and as we continue to grow, we’re looking for the very best talent to help us achieve our ambitious goals. If you’re highly motivated and would love to work with us as we continue to grow, then we would love to hear from you.

Your new role:  We’re looking for a design unicorn - someone who blends craft with strategy, and behavioural insight with business impact. A designer who can flip our product upside down, challenge assumptions, and reimagine how people experience digital healthcare.

You’ll report in to our Chief Product & Digital Officer, giving you visibility and influence at the highest level of the organisation. We’re not looking for someone who just executes tickets. This isn’t a production design role. We want an inquisitive designer who asks the hard questions (of themselves, of us, and of the work) and pushes the team towards stronger, more meaningful outcomes. This isn’t about polishing Figma screens. It’s about reframing mental models, shifting behaviours, and crafting end-to-end experiences that feel effortless for patients while delivering measurable impact for the business.

You’ll be our design lead and craft champion: zooming out to set vision and strategy, zooming in to refine critical details, and shaping the product through the lens of human-centred and behavioural design. You’ll partner with product managers, engineers, clinicians, and stakeholders to redesign journeys that work with, not against, how people actually think, decide, and behave. This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, provokes fresh thinking, and has the design muscle to turn bold ideas into reality.

  • Salary: £70,000 per annum
  • Hybrid, with minimum two days attendance in London office
  • Application Deadline: 6pm Monday 15th September 2025

Requirements

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead end-to-end UX design across products and new propositions, from framing the problem to delivering validated solutions.
  • Own your own design projects - scoping, planning, and managing design timelines to keep discovery and delivery phases on track.
  • Run and “project-manage” discovery: facilitating workshops, mapping journeys, prototyping, and testing to generate evidence-based insights.
  • Get hands dirty with the craft - designing screenflows, prototypes, and interactions, then working side by side with engineers to bring them to life.
  • Set and communicate the experience vision, defining UX outcomes and aligning squads with your vision.
  • Champion behavioural design principles - designing with mental models, decision-making, and human behaviour at the core.
  • Mentor and inspire a junior designer, raising the craft bar while fostering curiosity and collaboration across teams.
  • Collaborate across disciplines - working closely with product managers, developers, clinicians, operations, customer success and marketing teams to create cohesive, human-centred experiences.

About you:

  • You’re a strategic yet hands-on designer, equally comfortable setting experience vision and finessing interaction details.
  • You thrive on leading design propositions, owning the process from discovery through delivery.
  • You have experience planning and managing design timelines and can keep discovery phases structured without losing creative energy.
  • You’re fluent in behavioural design, mental models, and service thinking, and you know how to apply them to real-world healthcare challenges.
  • You’re inquisitive and independent - not waiting for a brief, but proactively reframing problems and spotting opportunities.
  • You know how to influence stakeholders, making the case for design decisions with clarity and evidence.
  • You’re motivated by impact: improving patient experiences and shaping the future of digital healthcare.

Must have:

  • Proven experience leading end-to-end UX design across complex products or services, from discovery through delivery.
  • Hands-on craft skills - able to design screenflows, prototypes, and interaction details in Figma, and work directly with engineers to bring designs to life.
  • Proven ability to own and drive design propositions, working independently while collaborating across product, engineering, clinical, and marketing teams.
  • Experience leading design discovery phases, including workshops, journey mapping, prototyping, and user testing, with the ability to structure and “project-manage” timelines.
  • Strategic design leadership - setting experience vision, defining UX outcomes, and aligning squads on shared goals.
  • Fluency in behavioural design and mental models, applying human-centred design principles to shape behaviour and improve outcomes.
  • Stakeholder influence and communication skills -able to challenge assumptions, advocate for users, and secure buy-in at senior levels.
  • Mentorship and leadership capability, with experience coaching junior designers and raising the craft bar across teams.

Nice to have:

  • Experience designing for healthcare, regulated, or high-stakes environments.
  • Strong grounding in qualitative and quantitative research methods - able to run tests and wear a research hat on.
  • Comfort with data-informed design, working with analytics and behavioural metrics to iterate and improve.
  • Ability to evangelise design across a business - running talks, workshops, or sharing frameworks that raise design maturity.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced scale-up or start-up where ambiguity and autonomy are the norm.
