Peer Specialist
Starting Pay: $21.00 per hour
Location: Anoka County / Fridley
Schedule: Monday-Friday; 6 hours per day, 30 hours per week. Shift start time can be 9:00am, 9:30am, or 10:00am.
The Community Support Program (CSP) will offer walk-in access to recovery-focused services that promote wellness, stability, and independence. Participants will receive support with goals, benefits, employment, housing, life skills, mental health education, peer groups, and community activities that emphasize connection and belonging. On-site, members can access meals, showers, laundry, fitness, and creative arts interventions.
Peer Specialist Responsibilities:
- Establish supportive and motivational relationships with members
- Meet with members individually or in group settings daily
- Serve as a role model and provide interventions with members daily
- Refer members to community services and supports
- Provide transportation to and from the CSP for members who live in Anoka County
- Ensure members follow program guidelines to ensure the program is safe and secure
- Coach members to utilize coping strategies and perform behavioral management interventions as needed
- Maintain member records in the electronic health record system
- Collaborate with other staff members, consultants, interns, and/or volunteers
Peer Specialist Requirements:
- Experience and/or certification as a Peer Mental Health Specialist or Peer Recovery Specialist
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
- Availability to work a variety of shifts to support the CSP when open required
- Experience working in a drop-in center strongly preferred
