Role and Activity 

  1. Maintain good housekeeping in all Dry Warehouse storage, receiving, and tempering areas (includes ambient and frozen receiving docks, ambient, 40 degree and -20 warehouse locations, flammable rooms, tempering and hot box areas, all staging areas and pallet transfer areas) forklifts, work carts, stretch wrap machines, conveyors, dock and floors.   
  2. Movement of materials in a safe and efficient manner to and from storage and production location, staging area and receiving areas as well as facilitate approval and flow of materials into the facility according to established procedures. 
  3. Understand the process of Materials Warehousing. Know how to perform all job duties including receiving, storage, product transfers, shipping, picking, production schedules, returns, lot tracking, tempering/ thawing, cycle counting, SAP and RF system operation.  Is expected to learn Receiver role. 
  4. Responsible for movements between ambient, refrigerated, frozen, hot room storage, staging and receiving areas. Perform location moves and staging transactions in a timely manner.  
  5. Verify Lot Control and FEFO is used for all floor deliveries and returns.  
  6. Have the computer skills and aptitude to operate various warehouse management systems (SAP and RF) spreadsheets, word-processing documents, etc.  
  7. Properly fill out all paperwork needed for warehouse operation.  
  8. Ensure that all packaging and raw materials are properly rotated on a (FEFO) basis. 
  9. Safely transfer pallets from wood to plastic using the Pallet Transfer System and/or forklifts 
  10. Staging for next production cycle appropriately.  
  11. Monitor the availability and usage of plastic pallets to ensure that product is not setup on plastic pallets too far in advance.  Minimize the number of plastic pallets that are returned to the warehouse. 
  12. Complete assigned Cleaning Tasks, Cycle Count, Allergen Audit, Forklift inspection/watering, Rack inspection and Temperature check. 
  13. Perform Allergen and Non Genetically Modified (NGM) segregation and pallet tag according to Allergen procedure.  
  14. Keep rack locations safe and usable, restacking or up righting any tipped pallets in racking.  Always maintain safety requirements such as wearing fall protection harness. 
  15. Collect, sort and organize pallets from Warehouse placing damaged pallets in pallet recycling area and fill out a dump log.   
  16. Be certified on safe operation of all Material Handling Equipment.  
  17. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. as part of the job function.  
  18. Must be detailed oriented and have good math skills.  
  19. Act with a sense of urgency to accomplish goals and tasks.  
  20. You are responsible for your performance, efficiencies, waste, quality, safety, results.  
  21. Ensure effective hand over with the next shift, all watch outs and issues reported. 
  22. Follow, monitor and understand all Safety/GMP/HACCP/FOB procedures. 
  23. Perform start-up safety inspection on forklifts. 
  24. Keep waste to a minimum and report any and all damage immediately.  
  25. Swipe in and out on time. Be at your work area as scheduled on time to pre and post shift meetings. 
  26. Communicate with team and supervisor/manager. Keep them informed of any issues. 
  27. Promote the Froneri culture of employees being owners rather than just employees. 
  28. Train others as assigned. 
  29. Perform other job duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:    

  • 18 years of age or older 
  • Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem solving skills. 
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules. 
  • High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience 
  • One-year related experience (preferred). 

 

Work Environment:  

In this position, the employee will regularly work with and around others; in a wet and/or humid environment; in areas of high noise level; and around mechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment. The work is fast paced.    

The position involves frequent exposure to nuts and other potential allergens.    

  • Cold Temperatures: Parts of the facility, such as storage and production areas, may be kept at low temperatures. 
  • Requires use of cold-protective PPE. 
  • May involve standing, lifting, and walking in refrigerated zones for extended periods.  
  • Fast-Paced: Workers often operate under strict timelines to meet production quotas. 
  • High-speed manufacturing floor with frequent movement, line assignment changes, and tight production timelines.   
  • Standing for Long Hours: Many roles require prolonged standing and repetitive tasks.  
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements required.   
  • Must be able to stand for hours with frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.   
  • Food Safety Regulations: Employees must follow hygiene and safety guidelines, including wearing protective gear (gloves, hairnets, etc.). 
  • Team-Oriented: Workers collaborate to ensure smooth production and packaging. 

 

The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is $25.77 per hour.
