Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse for a prestigious Acute Care / Academic Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. This role involves providing high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced, Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, responding to changes with appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility protocols.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
- Licensure: Active New York State RN license (required).
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of PICU experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center.
- Certifications:
- BLS & PALS (required).
- ACLS (preferred).
- Technical Skills:
- EMR experience (EPIC preferred).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong clinical assessment & critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
