Overall Objective:

The Artificial Lift Technician is under the supervision of the Optimization Foreman and is responsible for well optimization at the asset level. This includes- but not limited to- analysis of individual well performance and evaluation of underperforming production, utilizing the Echo-meter Digital Well Analyzer System (tubing integrity evaluation, fluid level data, plunger tracking, gas lift valve performance, etc.) and Cygnet/well test data. The Optimization Specialist/Analyst works directly with other analysts and engineers to improve well production and diagnose well performance issues.

Maintain compliance for all relevant Mesquite procedures and policies.

Responsibilities: 

  • Report directly to Optimization Foreman.
  • Show up to work on time.
  • Work Time 7 AM- 3 PM

  • Operate in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
  • Assist with the monitoring and diagnosis of all well optimizations.
  • Optimization Team Support
    1. Expected to be in the field daily during your work period.
    2. Shoot Fluid levels / Track plungers/ Perform Analysis and summary of gathered data.
    3. Identify wells that are Echo-Meter candidates.
  • Optimize artificial applications including gas lift, GAPL, plunger lift, and rod pumps.
  • Perform well diagnostics to troubleshoot and resolve downhole / surface issues.
    1. Coordinate resolution of problems with Field Techs/ Operators/ Leads/ Foreman/ Production analyst, optimization group and engineers.
  • Identify and resolve production deviations utilizing tools available to you. (Cygnet/Spotfire/ Carte/power bi, Echo-meter analysis, etc.)
  • Assist identifying wells that require potential workover operations.
  • Assist to identify wells that need slickline/swab work done. Work with engineers and well analysts as needed.
  • Monitor wells as needed for frac interference.
  • Maintain & ensure accuracy data integrity in Cygnet and Open Wells as needed.
  • Work closely with field personnel to ensure timely and proper communication of well performance issues.
  • Complete daily reports as needed.
  • Research and compile production data for engineers, and others as requested.
  • Attend and participate in production meetings and well reviews as needed.

Education Requirements:
Minimum:
 • High school diploma or GED

Certifications (optional but beneficial):
 • H2S Safety Training
 • Well Control Certification (e.g. IADC or IWCF)
 • First Aid/CPR
 • OSHA Safety Training
 • Supervisory or Leadership Training
 
 Experience Requirements:
Minimum:
• 3+ years of direct experience in oil & gas production operations (e.g. well operations, production equipment, artificial lift systems, etc.)
 Experience with:
 • Managing daily field operations
 • Working with SCADA and production data systems
 • Overseeing contractors and service companies
 • Echometer fluid levels
 

Work Environment Experience:
 • Remote field locations
 • Harsh weather conditions
 • 24/7 operations or on-call rotations
 • Safety-sensitive environments
