Purpose:

 

The Total Rewards Manager is responsible for strategically managing and administering comprehensive employee benefits, retirement, and compensation programs, including policies and procedures, that support workforce well-being, ensure regulatory compliance, and align with organizational goals. 

 

 

Job Functions/Accountabilities:

 

Benefits Management   

  • Manage and administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, and wellness benefits.
  • Manage the annual renewal process for these plans, including all aspects of Open Enrollment, such as enrollment materials, communications, and the actual enrollment event on the HRIS system. 
  • Prepare the annual benefits budget
  • Assist in preparation of 5500's for the health and welfare plans
  • Prepare and distribute required benefits related documentation, such as SPDs and annually required notices
  • Seek innovative ways to streamline or improve the welfare plan reporting and strive for cost reductions, where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with health care reform related reporting, fees, and notification requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with broker and representatives from various vendors to ensure correct administration of our plans.
  • Ensure employees have the necessary information regarding their benefit plans, and any questions they have are promptly addressed (with assistance from the Benefits Specialist)

 

Retirement Plan Management

  • Manage and administer various retirement related benefits, such as the 401(k) and both retiree medical plans.
  • Coordinates with actuaries, accountants, and other professionals to provide verified and compiled data for administration of benefits.
  • Ensure retirement plans are administered in accordance with company, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of 5500's for the Savings Plans 
  • Coordinate IRS required Plan Restatements as needed
  • Prepare and distribute required 401(k) related documentation, such as SPDs and annually required notices
  • Ensure ZCLP upholds our Fiduciary responsibilities
  • Prepare the annual 401(k) and retiree benefit budgets
  • Coordinate and Lead biannual Investment Committee Meetings 
  • Maintain relationships with our ERISA Attorney, third party Fiduciary Advisor, and representatives from the 401(k) recordkeeper and retiree medical plan administrator to ensure correct administration of our plans.
  • Ensure employees have necessary information regarding their retirement plans, and any questions they have are promptly addressed (with assistance from the Benefits Specialist)

 

Compensation Management

  • Manage and administer various compensation related functions, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, incentive plan design, and associated analysis.
  • Develop and maintain compensation strategy and ensure the compensation and benefits programs remain competitive and align with strategy.
  • Manage and administer the merit process, including calculating performance-based merit increases and other tenets of our salary administration program.
  • Manage the annual IAP/bonus program, including preparing the IAP bonus calculation
  • Assist in the annual headcount process, understanding and documenting headcount changes
  • Lead the annual the annual labor budget process, including working with site leaders to understand labor changes and calculating the actual budget 
  • Maintains knowledge of legal and regulatory changes, trends, and other developments affecting all aspects of welfare, retirement, and compensation.
  • Monitor requirements and participate in JSOX audits with no violations.
  • Ensure understanding of accounting related needs from the benefit area and provide information as needed.
  • Conducts group presentations to ensure employee understanding of various benefits and compensation benefits.

 

Staff Management

  • Supervise and develop direct report(s) as assigned.
  • Establish annual performance goals and objectives for team members providing regular feedback and annual performance reviews.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field is required. 

 

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in compensation and benefits management is required. 
  • Specific knowledge of benefit programs, administration, and government regulations is required. 
  • General knowledge of Human Resources administration and procedures is preferred. 

 

Special Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated analytical skills are required. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is required. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. 
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel is required.
