Job Title: Truck Driver III (CDL)

SUMMARY
Drives a 26,001 pound or more GVW truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Responsible for safe vehicle operations, driving, and crew safety at all times.
- Responsible for properly covering and securing container loads for transport.
- Loads vehicle, distributes weight evenly, forms compact load, organizes assorted donations and effectively utilizes space.
- Positions pads, stacks and secures items on truck to prevent damage to goods and positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
- Completes and maintains truck log and pre-trip inspections in accordance to state and federal regulations; completion of all daily tracking reports as assigned.
- Completes and maintains pre-trip inspections by performing daily inspections of vehicle, tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Reports any unsafe conditions immediately to the department supervisor.
- Observes vehicle operations policy including state and federal regulations.
- Is knowledgeable and familiar with streets and locations on the island of Oahu; use knowledge to maintain efficiency in driving routes.
- In case of an emergency, notifies direct supervisor immediately.
- Operates other lift trucks and vehicles as required, if certified.
- Assists in maintaining and neat and orderly work area in and around the warehouse operation.
- Maintains clear communication with direct supervisor on duty at all times throughout the work shift.
- Maintains an appropriate level of respect and behavior toward fellow employees, customers, donors, and management at all times.
- Responsible for maintaining professional behavior at all times while on duty to insure proper representation of the organization.
- Conducts work in a safe and responsible manner, utilizing protective clothing (i.e. gloves, support belt) and/or equipment (i.e. hand truck, dolly) when appropriate. Complies with all safety standards.
- Responsible for awareness of and adherence to all company and safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must have excellent customer service skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to read map coordinates and follow instructions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid commercial driver's license (CDL). Must have a traffic abstract that meets company guidelines, pass a DOT physical, functional capacity exam, and be at least 21 years of age. Must retain HDL and DOT Medical card on their person at all time when working.

Employee must be able to frequently lift up to 50lbs and maneuver wheeled containers weighing up to 300 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Regular Attendance is a requirement of this position. Core work hours are between 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday - Sunday, to include holidays, to meet the needs of the business operations. Neighbor island travel is not required.
