VytlOne is seeking a highly competent, compassionate nationally certified pharmacy technician for our Meds-To-Beds program at our new location, Thibodaux Regional Pharmacy. Our pharmacies are retail in nature, but also offer interesting differences from a typical retail setting with our bedside medication delivery program (Meds to Beds).  The Certified Pharmacy Technician-Meds to Beds (under supervision) will fill orders as prescribed by providers and perform various related pharmacy duties including quality management activities. Essential Functions (This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position):  

  • Assist pharmacists in providing effective, appropriate, and safe pharmacy services.
  • Prepare and deliver medications timely to patients and/or nursing units under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist as part of our Meds to Beds service.
  • Provide friendly and cooperative customer service.
  • Enter patient data accurately.
  • Track prescription orders via pharmacy tracking program to ensure correct delivery information.
  • Answer telephones quickly and with courtesy.
  • Performs cashier functions.
  • Collect pharmacy copays according to determined financial classification and 3rd party eligibility.
  • Pull and count medication from shelves accurately according to label generated at time of dispensing for final check by Pharmacist.
  • Identifies and resolves insurance billing adjudication; including facilitating prior authorizations (PAs) and assisting in locating financial assistance for patients as needed.
  • Assist the dispense technicians as needed regarding required refill requests that are discovered at time of dispensing.
  • Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs for Pharmacy Technicians, pharmacy staff meetings, in-service educational programs and other committees and functions as required by the facility and pharmacy department.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
  • Assist in inventory control such as inventorying and stocking.
  • Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a nationally certified pharmacy technician.
  • Must have a LA state registered pharmacy technician license.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • In good standing with the Louisiana state pharmacy board.
  • Two or more years of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Comfortable in a hospital room setting.
  •  Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time while performing pharmacy service support duties.
  • A passion for outstanding customer service, professionalism, and teamwork.
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal patient care.
  • Comfortable with public speaking.
  • Experience and knowledge of working with insurance. 
  • Computer experience mandatory. Ability to operate various pharmacy software programs/equipment proficiently.
