This role is responsible for accurately pricing plan-specific customer options for single-family residential homes as requested through the Sales department. The position requires regular interaction with Sales, Management, Construction, Contractors, Suppliers, and Vendors to support accurate and timely pricing. The individual is also responsible for maintaining the cost management database and ensuring option offerings are kept current. All work must be carried out in alignment with established procedures, practices, and company policies.  

Requirements

  • Must have full working knowledge of blueprints, red lining, and takeoffs.
  • Must be able to proficiently complete complex estimating tasks for projects in various phases of design and construction.
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and unit pricing for custom options requested by customers & Sales department.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and requirements, and incorporate them into the custom option cost estimate.
  • Prepare conceptual estimates and interpret outline specifications.
  • Coordinate/review/analyze contractor/vendor bids.
  • Maintain the company cost management database (labor and material).
  • Identify cost-saving techniques, materials, and procedures.
  • Monitor and communicate any cost impact of increases and quantity changes.
  • Perform cost comparison and analysis as requested.
  • Maintain standard & upgrade options and program offerings associated with the company's ePricebook.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support all departments in the company.


Education and Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in homebuilding or a similar industry preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
