The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for a Clinical Team Lead to join our Mobile Crisis Outreach team (MCOT). Under the general direction of the MCOT Program Director, the Clinical Team Leader [CTL] performs administrative duties involving day to day operation of the unit, training, and supervision of the work performance of designated clinical staff. The CTL will be responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting weekly team meetings with MCOT management. The CTL must be able to manage staff effectively in a collaborative team environment. Your role in Action:

  • THE MCOT CTL triages calls, enters referrals, determines response classifications, and assigns referrals to staff to contact.
  • The MCOT CTL develops weekly training schedule for new hires and monitors completion of all required training.
  • The MCOT CTL supervises the maintenance of MCOT agency vehicles and addresses safety alerts emailed from Risk Management in a timely manner.
  • The MCOT CTL completes and final approves Agency incident reports in a timely manner.
  • The MCOT CTL works closely with MCOT Medical Director, staffing clients appropriate to be seen by psychiatrist and assists with scheduling intake and follow-up appointments.
  • The MCOT CTL monitors completion of ANSA/CANS by staff, performs data entry of ANSA/CANS, and ensures all errors are corrected in a timely manner.
  • The MCOT CTL works together with MCOT Management to conduct weekly staff meetings for the MCOT staff and take meeting minutes.
  • The MCOT CTL maintains a record of when staff work or utilize agency leave to assist with the accurate completion of payroll.
  • The MCOT CTL schedules shadowing experiences for staff throughout the agency interested in gaining knowledge of the MCOT program.
  • The MCOT CTL represents the Program Director and The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD when community organizations, law enforcement agencies, hospitals, schools, etc. request to speak with a MCOT supervisor.
  • The MCOT CTL is available to attend speaking engagements at the request of community organizations.
  • The MCOT CLT is available to provide any assistance not listed above to the Agency, Program Director, Clinical Team Lead, or staff as requested and required.

What qualifications you will need:

Education:

  • Master’s degree (M.A.) from four-year accredited college or university with a major in a social, behavioral, or human service field, including but not limited to: psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human development, gerontology, and educational psychology.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of crisis experience
  • Must have supervisory experience in the mental health field. Crisis experience is preferred.

Other Key Qualifications: 

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), LMFT.
  • Maintains current licensure with appropriate state licensing regulatory board.
  • Must be able to manage staff effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must maintain a valid Texas Driver's License and be insurable under Agency policy.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and clean driving record.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Must have basic knowledge of principles of the development, implementation, and documentation of individual care and treatment for a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
  • Must be familiar with local behavioral health providers and hospitals in the area served by the Agency.
  • Ability to effectively lead others. Strong communication skills with ability to effectively converse and listen to others and construct clear and concise written communication.
  • Ability to offer identify and offer solutions to resolve problems, using knowledge of the organization to identify helpful resources. Must be able to use basic word processing and data spreadsheets.
