The MPHD School-Based Dental Sealant Program is seeking a dedicated, energetic Dental Hygienist to join our team! In this role, you will provide preventive dental care to children in Pre-K through 8th grade within a school-based setting in Davidson County.

NOTE: This position will work the 2025-2026 Metro Nashville Public School 10-month schedule.

Position Duties
- Performs dental screenings and examinations
- Place dental sealants, SDF, and fluoride varnish treatments
- Promote healthy habits that empower students and families
- Provide engaging oral health education to children in an assembly setting
- Serves as dental health resource person for nursing staff.
- Assists with the preparation of dental health educational materials.
- Keeps and maintains oral health records and makes appropriate referrals.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited school of dental hygiene; three (3) years’ experience as a dental hygienist; and licensed to practice dental hygiene in the State of Tennessee.
Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply, however at the present time MPHD is not sponsoring individuals through any of the US Government’s employment-based immigration programs.

Valid class “D” driver’s license, use of personal vehicle, and maintenance of valid personal vehicle insurance as required by Tennessee Law.

- Knowledge of the principles and consultative techniques of dental hygiene.
- Knowledge of the methods and techniques involved in dental prophylaxis and fluoridation.
- Knowledge of Tennessee dental laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of the aims and services of a dental health program.
