Position Summary
CTI is seeking a hands-on SMT Work Center Lead to support our printed circuit board (PCB) assembly operations. This position is not a supervisory role but serves as the go-to leader on the floor for our Surface Mount Technology (SMT) line. The SMT Work Center Lead ensures smooth production flow, provides direction to operators, troubleshoots issues, and maintains high standards for quality and efficiency.
What You’ll Do
- Lead daily SMT line operations including stencil printing, pick-and-place, reflow, selective soldering, and testing.
- Provide guidance and support to operators, keeping the team organized and on task.
- Set up, operate, and adjust SMT equipment, including feeder setup and reflow oven profiles.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime.
- Manage reels and components throughout production to ensure accuracy and traceability.
- Accurately enter work orders, materials, and production data into the ERP system.
- Maintain quality standards at every step of the process and escalate issues as needed.
- Train and mentor operators on best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate’s degree preferred.
- 2–5 years of PCB assembly or electronics manufacturing experience, including hands-on SMT line work.
- Proficiency with stencil printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI/testing, and selective soldering equipment required.
- ERP system experience required.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for process and equipment issues.
- Experience handling reels, feeders, and component management.
- Ability to provide clear direction, stay organized, and keep others on task.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
