As a Painter III you will possesses advanced painting skills and knowledge, including the ability spray all types of paint including metallics and potentially lead or supervise other painters. You can perform all tasks with accuracy and precision, and meet set forth takt times. You also demonstrate strong problem solving, analytical skills, and top leadership skills. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Has the painting expertise to paint any OSW product or parts on their own
- Read work orders, instructions and fills out QC sheets accurately.
- Follow all safe work practices.
- Organize, plan, and prioritize work.
- Inspect equipment, structures, or material.
- Operate mechanized devices, or equipment.
- Responsible for maintaining the booths and paint kitchen to the highest standards.
- Apply Cleaning solvents, adhesives, caulking, sealants, or coatings where instructed.
- Mask vehicle body in preparation for painting.
- Distinguish colors and complete accurate spray outs.
- Operate mix or blending machine; use hand or power tools.
- Mix paint, ingredients, or chemicals, according to specifications.
- Conducts quality control evaluations completed products.
- Provide training to Painter I, Painter II, and / or Paint Preppers where necessary.
- Maintain the highest attendance possible per the OSW handbook.
- Maintains a positive attitude.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Surface Preparation – Including tasks such as sanding, scraping, cleaning, pressure washing, patching, and priming surfaces
- Painting Application – Applying single stage paint, multi stage paint, top coat, and other finishes to various surfaces using different tools and techniques
- Color Mixing and Patching – Precise mixing and matching of paints and other coatings
- Equipment Handling – Using and maintaining painting tools, including Spray Guns, Brushes, Rollers, Scaffolding, Ladders, etc
- Safety and Cleanliness – Maintaining a safe and clean work environment, following all safety protocols, and adhering to company policies
- Work Order Management – Keeping track of work orders and reporting progress
- Coordination – Working with other departments on jobs
- Ability to work independently as well as with team members.
- Ability to work with power tools, pneumatic wrenches, grinders.
- Heavy-duty truck aptitude.
- Strong organization, communication, and phone skills.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service, and time management skills.
- Ability to be extremely well organized, resourceful, and self-motivated.
- Ability to problem solve and make appropriate business decisions with little guidance.
Education and Experience
- High school graduate, GED, preferred.
- 2-5 years plus of industrial experience required
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds at times without assistance.
- Bending, twisting, lifting, kneeling crouching, stooping/crawling standing, walking a minimum of 50% of the time
- Ability to work in spaces which may be cramped or require awkward positioning for a short period of time.
- Ability to withstand temperature extremes as some job duties will be performed outside in the elements.
Additional Job Information:
- Wage Expectations: $30.00 – 40.00 / hour
- Pay: This is a non-exempt, hourly position and employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis
- Typical Schedule: Four (4) Ten (10) hour days M-Thur
- Location: On Site – 20812 Broadway Ave; Snohomish, WA 98296
- Travel: Very minimal to none
