Position Summary:

Seeking a graduate (MA- or PHD-level) research assistant to assist on a SSHRC-funded research project – data collection, analysis and write-up of findings – about shared parenting of children post- (parental) separation and its implications for gender equality. 5 to 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning of AI-generated interview transcripts

  • Data collection, principally documents

  • Qualitative data analysis (i.e., coding) using MAXQDA (Note: training to be provided)

  • Literature review

  • Assistance in reporting of findings

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a graduate degree at McGill University, in good academic standing

  • B.A. degree, with social science background (e.g., sociology, political science, law)

  • Familiarity with or interest in feminist/gender studies preferred

  • Training and/or experience with qualitative research methods preferred

  • Proficiency with Office 365 (e.g., SharePoint, MS Word)

  • English language (fluency) required, French language (fluency) an asset

  • Attentive to detail and able to work independently
