The County of Nevada, located in the scenic Sierra foothills, is seeking a Behavioral Health Children’s Program Manager! Join a team of compassionate and committed staff who work together closely to support people with behavioral health needs in our community. This position plays a key role in managing our children’s behavioral health programs. The person will also have the opportunity to work with community agencies, interact with community stakeholders, and represent the department in various settings.
This is a leadership position in the Children's Division within the Nevada County Behavioral Health Department. We are seeking someone with a strong background working with children and youth around mental health and substance use disorder needs, as well as someone who is a collaborator, has a sense of humor, and a passion for serving the community.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a licensed Master's or Doctoral level practitioner with four years of clinical and managerial responsibility in a health services agency.
- Develop and review program policies and procedures specific to assigned area.
- Supervise assigned staff including reviewing and approving employee schedules, ensuring staff training and development, completing employee performance evaluations, and assigning and reviewing work. Conducting informal counseling on work issues, preparing documentation and improvement plans for deficiencies, and recommending disciplinary action may be included in this scope of duties.
- Interviewing and making recommendations regarding filling of positions.
- Interpret and apply provisions of law, rules, and regulations related to program area.
- Review and respond to correspondence and other forms of communication sent by a wide variety of individuals.
- Conduct safety and staff meetings with assigned staff.
- Provide professional and technical consultation on complex program matters, participating in the actual work of the program area on particularly complex, difficult or sensitive projects.
Prepare grant, budget, and other material such as Requests for Proposals, Requests for Qualifications, and other information as needed by the program Board meetings, Board task forces, community organizations, interagency committee and other meetings and conferences.
