About the Role:
The Security Officer at Regional West Health Services (RWHS) plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors within the healthcare facility. This position involves vigilant monitoring of premises through both physical patrols and electronic surveillance systems to prevent unauthorized access and ensure compliance with safety protocols. The Security Officer will respond promptly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, coordinating with healthcare personnel and emergency responders as necessary. By enforcing access control measures and maintaining clear communication, the officer helps protect sensitive areas and supports the overall mission of RWHS to provide high-quality healthcare services. Ultimately, this role contributes to a secure atmosphere that fosters trust and well-being for all individuals within the facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a security guard or in a related security role, preferably within a healthcare or similar environment.
- Basic proficiency with computer systems and wireless communication technology.
- Ability to climb stairs and perform repetitive motions as required during patrols.
- Strong oral communication skills to interact effectively with staff, patients, visitors, and emergency personnel.
- Current Valid Nebraska Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience radio communication protocols.
- Familiarity with healthcare facility safety regulations and emergency response procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular patrols of the healthcare facility, including stairwells, entrances, and restricted areas, to detect and deter security breaches or safety hazards.
- Operate and monitor wireless communication devices and security systems to maintain real-time awareness of facility status and coordinate with team members.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, providing assistance and reporting details accurately to supervisors and emergency services.
- Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations to support ongoing security operations and compliance requirements.
