Description
The Inventory Control Specialist is a key member of the operations team that counts and maintains accurate inventory, places product orders, and maintains records of procurements. They are responsible for ensuring the completion of cycle counts, entering data into the ERP system, investigating discrepancies, and promptly correcting any errors.

Inventory Control Specialist Job Duties
- Maintains consistent stock in virtual inventory systems.
- Orders new stock up to pre-authorized limits as needed.
- Establishes and maintains systems to source high-demand items.
- Creates inventory reports and assesses inventory levels to identify items in need of recurring delivery.
- Performs cycle counts and spot/partial audits. Creates accompanying documentation to ensure the fidelity of warehouse inventory.
- Audits warehouse aisles and bins to check for put-away procedure conformance.
- Investigates physical and inventory system discrepancies; reconciles any outstanding issues.
- Supports the warehouse operations by finding or adjusting inventory and pulls orders when needed.
- Builds relationships with vendors to ensure continued partnership.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities
- Proficient use of computer systems and applications (e.g. MS Office, WMS) as trained/required.
- Makes the best use of available time and resources. Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work.
- Consistently exhibits flexibility in resolving customer problems in a timely manner. Exercises good judgment in resolving general disputes or problems.

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma and one year of experience in a warehouse/ freight role.
- Minimum one year of experience with warehouse management software.
Physical Requirements
The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s essential functions require the following physical demands: carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, crouching, significant finger dexterity, and some climbing. Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 35 pounds. The job is performed in a warehouse setting with temperature variations and requires the use of safety shoes and high visibility clothing.
