Salary: $105,000 - $144,000 annually

Larson Automotive Group is searching for an experienced Automotive Controller with a proven track record in dealership accounting. This is a high-impact leadership role designed for a professional who understands the complexity of automotive financial operations and has successfully led teams at the Controller level.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Provide executive-level financial analysis that supports strategic decisions and long-term growth.
  • Oversee reconciliations for manufacturer statements, incentives, rebates, floor plans, warranty claims, and receivables.
  • Manage cash flow, contracts in transit, and receivables to ensure financial strength and stability.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance across the general ledger, schedules, and internal controls.
  • Lead and develop a team of 20–22 accounting professionals.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and department heads to align financial strategy with operational performance.

  

What You Bring

  • Proven success as an Automotive Controller in a dealership or dealer group setting (required).
  • Strong expertise in dealership accounting, manufacturer reporting, and compliance.
  • Leadership skills that inspire trust, accountability, and high performance in large teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with senior executives.
  • Proficiency with dealership accounting systems (DMS experience highly preferred).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume automotive retail environment.

Time Off & Holidays

Paid Time Off (PTO):

                 o Accrual begins on your first day.

                 o Accrual schedule:

                          0–2 years: 1 hour per 40 hours worked

                          3–10 years: 1.53 hours per 40 hours worked

                          10+ years: 2.30 hours per 40 hours worked

Paid Holidays: Hourly employees receive six paid holidays per year.

Requirements

 

  • Prior experience in retail automotive dealership accounting management is required.
  • Strong understanding of dealership financial statements, general ledger accounting, and manufacturer reporting.
  • Experience managing cash flow, floor plan reconciliation, and tax computations.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor staff.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and dealership management systems (DMS).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
