Welder 2nd Shift
Position Description
- Must be able to work safely, be dedicated to performing quality work, and be productive.
- Read blueprints and schematics to determine dimensions, design, and materials needed for duties.
- Operate all equipment safety to produce desired results (i.e. welders)
- Effectively use measuring devices to insure accuracy of cuts.
- Perform welding duties in the assembly area which includes but is not limited to hat channel, gussets, motor trolleys, fans, and cool racks.
- Perform structure steel welding.
- Perform Mig and/or Tig welding as needed to accomplish assigned task
- Clean all welds, including paint as needed.
- Move material using forklift, crane, cart or conveyor.
- Troubleshoot problems and determine corrective actions.
- Must be able to perform the task assigned within the assembly area.
- Communicate outside of the team and across shifts.
- Demonstrate an absolute commitment to safety and model safe behavior.
- Work with minimum supervision.
- Work scheduled hours including overtime.
- Operate hand tools required for performing job duties.
Qualifications:
- Technical training and/or experience in one or more of the following: structural steel welding, mig welding and tig welding.
- Must be able to mig or arc weld in 2F & 3F positions.
- Must pass required test for 3F position in FCAW and aluminum welding.
- Must be able to oxy-fuel cutting and carbon arc cutting.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Must understand all weld processes.
- Learn to operate all equipment associated with the job
- Actively practices and promotes safety.
- Must be exemplary performance in attitude, attendance, and ability.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds across uneven surfaces
- Must be able to climb and safely work from ladders exceeding 6 feet in height.
- Must be able to continuously step onto and off of 18” platform unaided.
- Must be able to work safely on uneven and unstable surfaces
- Must be able to work in different positions standing upright, bending, kneeling, sitting, and laying down
