Position Summary
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. The PMHNP develops and implements treatment plans, prescribes psychotropic medications, and monitors and evaluates treatment outcomes in alignment with psychiatry guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including intake review, psychiatric history, and evaluations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and/or caregivers, establishing treatment goals and methodologies.
- Provide care through psychotherapeutic interventions and medication management, while monitoring patient progress.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including primary care physicians, therapists, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
- Participate in MCHC quality initiatives, peer reviews, and provider meetings.
- Work in accordance with NY State Education requirements under a collaborating psychiatrist.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner degree (NP) with a specialty in Psychiatry.
- Current NYS Nurse Practitioner license and registration.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible with intent to achieve certification within one year of employment.
- BLS Certification required

Salary Range for this position is $150,000-$200,000 annually
