SUMMARY

Position’s purpose is to support IMRF business processing by ensuring that the integrity, quality, completeness, and usability of member and employer data is optimal for downstream processing, analysis, reporting, and decision-making.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

¨       Analyze raw datasets to identify inconsistencies, errors, duplicates, and missing values.

¨       Clean, normalize, and transform data from multiple sources while adhering to the pension code, business rules, and agreed upon administrative decisions.

¨       Maintain data quality by developing validation rules, routines, and checks.

¨       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and business logic.

¨       Document cleaning processes to ensure knowledge is shared and procedures are consistently followed.

¨       Documents data cleaning requirements for the development of SQL code to automatically fix data, reviews result of automatic clean ups, approves results.

¨       Support data migration and integration projects as needed.

¨       Collaborates with Business Solution Leads to identify opportunities for ongoing systems training and communicate findings to Business Process Owners.

¨       Provides insight into how the solution can be leveraged to meet IMRF business goals, help reduce response times, and prevent duplication of manual work.

¨       Assists IS Team Lead – EBS Business with analysis needed for developing data-driven resolution strategies within the Horizon solution to promote cross-program alignment and integration of processes globally throughout IMRF business areas.

¨       Provides user support and guidance in the application of business system functions as it relates to discovered patterns causing data issues that can be prevented.

¨       Works together with Business Solution Leads to support other IMRF staff in developing end-user documentation and training materials.

¨       Supports vision to maintain the highest level of customer service to our members and employers following IMRF web centric customer service model.

¨      Performs other technical and administrative duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Proficient knowledge of the Illinois Pension Code.

·         Effective communication skills (both oral and written), including effective personal and interpersonal skills.

·         Must have the ability to work within a team environment and build relationships internal and external.

·         Must be able to show proficiency at effective problem-solving skills, especially for enterprise-wide operations.  

·         Must be self-motivated to perform under pressure and to lead by example.

·         Must be able to work extended days (over 7 hours per day) and extended work weeks (over 5 days per week).

·         Highly organized; practices both logical and strategic thinking.

·         Excellent attention to detail and a strong analytical mindset.

·         Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) and one-year IMRF experience affording a working knowledge of pension business rules across unit/department lines and across IMRF pension administration systems;

OR

  • Associates degree or 60 college credits, Business-related major preferred (a PLUS) and four years of related IMRF experience, affording a working knowledge of pension business rules across unit/department lines and across IMRF pension administration systems: 

OR

  • Seven years progressive experience in gathering requirements, analyzing data for accuracy, data cleansing, and system testing. 

·         Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

 

Salary and Benefits

The expected annual salary range for this role is $69,560 - $73,733. Please note the salary information is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The range listed is just one component of IMRF's total compensation package for employees.

·       35-hour base work week, Monday-Friday. Ability to work one day remote, per week, after 6 months of hire.
