CTG is seeking to fill a Global Publications Lead – Oncology and Cardiovascular opening for our client in Whippany, NJ.
Location: Whippany, NJ (Hybrid – 1–2 times per week in office; local candidates only)
Duration: Permanent placement
Duties:
Lead the development and execution of early strategic and tactical publications plans for oncology and cardiovascular pipeline assets.
Ensure integration and alignment with communications, R&D, and medical strategy for timely data dissemination at congresses and in journals.
Review and interpret preclinical, clinical, real-world evidence, health economics, and statistical data to determine appropriate publication opportunities.
Oversee the creation and editing of abstracts, posters, oral presentations, manuscripts, and slide decks, ensuring adherence to Good Publication Practices (GPP) and internal policies.
Represent Publications in cross-functional teams (R&D, Global Medical & Evidence, Global Development, and Commercialization), presenting initiatives and chairing publication meetings.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including investigators, thought leaders, medical writers, agencies, CROs, and journal editors.
Support planning and execution of global workshops, advisory boards, and scientific programs to inform publication strategy.
Actively participate in medical congresses and scientific events as needed.
Manage publication timelines, budgets, and vendor resources in line with approved communication plans.
Ensure vendor compliance with company guidelines, service agreements, and publication policies.
Enforce Good Publication Practice (GPP) standards and educate cross-functional contributors on compliance requirements.
Skills:
Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, or MS in a scientific/medical discipline or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of Good Publication Practices (GPP), congress/journal submission requirements, and publication management systems.
Exceptional scientific writing, editing, and communication skills.
Ability to interpret complex clinical and scientific data and derive publication strategies.
Strategic thinker with cross-functional collaboration experience in global organizations.
Strong digital mindset with familiarity in digital publication formats and communication tools.
Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international, including some weekends).
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of scientific publications experience in pharmaceutical/biotech settings.
Experience in oncology strongly preferred; cardiovascular knowledge desirable or ability to quickly learn new therapeutic areas.
Proven track record of leading publication strategies and cross-functional publication teams.
Demonstrated ability to build external collaborations with investigators, KOLs, and publication agencies.
Education:
Advanced degree required (PhD, MD, PharmD, or MS in a scientific/medical discipline or equivalent).
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position is up to $56.40/hour depending on experience. Salary offers are based on skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and applicable certifications. In addition, a competitive benefits package is offered.
