Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Meets the patient's goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and interdisciplinary team.
  • Helps patient develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities by implementing programs involving practice in functional, prevocational, vocational, and homemaking skills, activities of daily living, and sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities.
  • Issues adaptive equipment and customized splints, as deemed
  • Promotes maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to individual's physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest.
  • Evaluates results of occupational therapy by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications.
  • Completes discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care conferences.
  • Documents patient care services via EMR charting using ‘defensible documentation’ in a timely and concise manner, in compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional
  • Develops rehab and hospital staff by providing information; developing and conducting in-service
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipates future legislation; enforces adherence; advises management on needed actions.
  • Strives to: promote health, create a safe and effective treatment environment, motivate others, have a good bedside manner, listen, analyze information, and be quality focused
  • Participates in ongoing professional development to maintain a level of clinical practice consistent with best practice standards. This includes seeking opportunities to gain new knowledge and skills and utilize these newly acquired skills in the provision of care and for growth and development of the department and

 

  • Critically assesses self to improve clinical and professional
  • Advocates for the occupational therapy
  • School-based occupational therapists (in addition to above expectations): Collaborates with the school-based team to help determine and carryout Individualized Education Programs (IEPs); identify a student’s annual goals and determines the services, supports, modifications, and accommodations that are required for the student to achieve them.
  • Home health physical therapists (in addition to above expectations): Provides in-home occupational therapy services to homebound patients and works in collaboration with the home health interdisciplinary team.

 QUALIFICATIONS:                                                                                                                                                                              

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age (21 for driving positions with a valid driver’s license).
  • Must be able to legally work in the United
  • Must be able to pass a background
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
  • Must complete employee health

Required Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Active Colorado Occupational Therapy License (DORA) or valid compact license,
  • Current BLS certification (or must be obtained within 90 days).

    Compensation Range: $42.18 to $63.27
