Job Description:

BlueScope is an Australian-born global success story spanning 15 countries. Our team of over 16,500 people is our strength and we want our people to be safe, successful and well. We’re leaders and innovators in transforming steel into smart products and solutions that support society, today and in the future. We’re proud of brands, like COLORBOND ® steel that inspire and protect everything from hospitals to bridges and stadiums.

The Opportunity

Western Port Manufacturing facility is looking for a Process Intelligence Engineer, initially in a 2-year fixed term contract in our Digital Transformation team based in Hastings (Western Port). As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have four major manufacturing sites at Western Port which operate 24 x 7 and deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers.

We’re looking for someone who can translate ASP Manufacturing’s Process Intelligence strategy into practical, operational tools that drive measurable improvements in efficiency, quality, and responsiveness. Based at Westernport — our flagship site for Process Intelligence — you’ll work directly with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to embed data-driven decision-making into daily routines.

This role is about impact where it matters most: ensuring operators and supervisors have predictive analytics, real-time monitoring, and results dashboards that are accurate, timely, and aligned with site priorities. By maintaining, refining, and troubleshooting these tools, you’ll make sure they stay relevant, trusted, and impactful.

What Will You Do?

Your work won’t just stay on the screen — it will directly improve how teams work, how decisions are made, and how results are achieved.  You’ll

  • develop and deploy site-level solutions that bring process intelligence strategy to life
  • support predictive analytics, monitoring, and dashboards tailored for operators and supervisors
  • maintain, refine, and troubleshoot tools to ensure they remain effective and trusted
  • train and mentor users in how to interpret and act on insights, building local capability
  • capture and share success stories that enable replication across other sites

More About You

Success in this role will look like someone who will:

  • have tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, information technology or a related field
  • have strong analytical and technical skills, ideally in manufacturing, engineering, or data analysis
  • enjoy working closely with frontline teams to deliver practical, fit-for-purpose solutions
  • balance attention to detail with an understanding of operational priorities
  • explain insights in a way that builds trust and confidence

You’ll enjoy a competitive salary package, health and wellbeing perks, including our Employee Assistance Program, Fitness Passport, discounted health cover, and “Real Deals” retail discounts
