Impact (Job Summary/Why this Role Matters)

As a Product Manager, you’ll play a foundational role in ensuring we deliver high quality, high impact features on the Digital Onboarding platform. You’ll support a US-based product manager in conducting user research, gathering requirements, analyzing workflows, and helping development teams execute with clarity. This role will drive initiatives that ensure regulatory compliance, enhance customer experience, and improve operational efficiency across commercial banking products and processes. The right person thrives in a high performance and fast-paced environment, working with a world class team of Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, Data Scientists, Customer Service Agents, Sales Associates and Clients to challenge the status-quo every day

Key Deliverables (Duties and Responsibilities)

Product Strategy, Discovery & Definition

  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for onboarding, KYC, BSA/AML, IDV and related compliance tools in the commercial banking space.
  • Partner with US product managers to conduct user research, synthesize feedback, and clarify problem statements.
  • Develop a strong understanding of both client onboarding workflows and system capabilities across our application and other integrated systems.
  • Analyze workflows, pain points, and regulatory needs to support opportunity sizing and prioritization.
  • Conduct or support interviews, data analysis, and journey mapping exercises to clarify scope and solution space.

Product Development, Execution & Delivery

  • Lead and develop seamless end-to-end digital and cross-channel experiences, have an in-depth understanding of key elements to commercial onboarding (KYC, IDV, AML) and have an ability to define with technology and data engineers the technology infrastructure needed to deliver a breakthrough experience for multiple global jurisdiction and segments.
  • Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management — from concept and business case development to design, delivery, and post-launch support.
  • Translate business and compliance needs into actionable product requirements (PRDs, user stories, workflows and acceptance criteria aligned to the business need.)
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on business value, risk mitigation, and user feedback.
  • Monitor product performance, user & client feedback to drive better product decisions.
  • Partner with India-based engineers, and QA teams to drive sprint readiness and solution walkthroughs.
  • Facilitate backlog grooming, sprint planning, and UAT.
  • Monitor regulatory changes (e.g., from FinCEN, OCC, FFIEC) and assess their impact on existing products and processes.
  • Keep product documentation and decisions updated across Confluence, Jira, and design tools.
  • Contribute to defining success metrics and validating product outcomes continuously. 

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Serve as the product manager in Agile teams, working closely with developers, testers, and project managers testers to clarify requirements, edge cases, and success conditions.
  • Act as a liaison between front-office commercial bankers and back-office operational/compliance teams to ensure user-centric product solutions.
  • Conduct regular stakeholder reviews, backlog grooming, and sprint planning.
  • This role will require strong influencing and negotiating skills across all levels in the organization.  
  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Operations, Legal, and Technology teams to ensure product alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.

User Experience & Process Optimization:

  • Improve onboarding and compliance processes through digitization, automation, and integration of intelligent tools (e.g., document capture, eKYC, screening systems).
  • Work closely with designers using tools like Figma to validate UX flows and align functionality with end user needs.
  • Ensure that customer journeys align with compliance and operational policies while minimizing friction and delays.
  • Support training, change management, and go-to-market strategies.

Data & Metrics:

  • Define KPIs and measure product performance (e.g., onboarding turnaround time, alert clearance rate, false positives).
  • Use data insights to continuously refine the product strategy and optimize features.

Time Zone Flexibility

  • Collaborate seamlessly across geographies by participating in meetings across both India and US working hours.
  • Serve as a bridge between US PMs and India based engineering/design resources to maintain momentum across time zones.

Skills and Qualification (Functional and Technical Skills)

Functional Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field; MBA or related graduate degree a plus.
  • 5-8 years of experience in a product manager role. Experience of U.S.-based commercial bank preferrable.
  • Proven experience with BSA/AML compliance systems, onboarding/KYC platforms, and regulatory technology.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex processes and define clear requirements.
  • Skilled in documenting user stories, workflows, edge cases, and business rules in a structured and testable manner.
  • Comfortable working with qualitative and quantitative data to support prioritization and solutioning.
  • Effective written and verbal communicator across technical and business audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross functional teams in product, engineering, design, and compliance.
  • Detail oriented and organized, capable of maintaining clean documentation and managing competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working across multiple time zones, with flexibility to attend early morning or evening meetings as needed.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery models and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Proficient in product design and documentation tools (e.g., Figma, Visio).
  • Experience with enterprise platforms, ideally in fintech or lending environments.
  • Understanding of data structures, API behaviors, or systems integration (preferred).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical mindset; experience with product metrics, A/B testing, and usage analytics (Quantum Metrics).

Preferred:

  • Experience on Portico application
  • Certifications such as CAMS, PMP, or CSPO.
  • Experience integrating third-party compliance tools (e.g., Fenergo, Actimize, LexisNexis, Alloy, or similar).
  • Experience working with or supporting Commercial Lending, Treasury Management, Relationship Management functions, or Enterprise Onboarding platforms.
  • Prior experience working on regulatory remediation or data governance initiatives.

Relationships & Collaboration

  • Reports to: Product Director in India
  • Partners with: US based Product Managers
  • Liaison: Acts as the critical liaison between the US product team and one of our GDC (Global Delivery Center) pods in India.
