Salary - National (Edinburgh and Leeds) ranging from £43,100 to £64,600 and London £47,300 to £70,900 per annum (Salary offered will be based on skills and experience)

We are pleased to be offering an exciting opportunity for a committed Associate to join the Incident Response and Engagement Team in the Technology, Resilience and Cyber Department (TRC) in the Specialist Supervision Division of the FCA. TRC works to ensure firms are resilient to operational disruptions to protect consumers and markets, and to build confidence in the effectiveness of technology that underpins financial services. The Incident Response and Engagement team leads on the FCA's response to operational resilience incidents (covering technology, non-technology, and cyber incidents) within the financial sector, as well as the department's engagement with domestic and international stakeholders on operational resilience topics.
What will you be doing?
- Support the FCA response to operational resilience incidents reported to us by regulated firms, including leading on supervisory interventions
- Support incident review process for operational resilience incidents using domain specific incident knowledge
- Provide upward reporting and updates on major incidents to the FCA Senior Leadership Team
- Support coordination of major incidents between the UK Financial Authorities, where there is significant consumer harm or market disruption
- Support the supervision teams with specialist knowledge in responding to and assessing firm's responses to operational resilience risks and incidents
- Maintain records of auditable quality of operational resilience incidents reported to the FCA
What will you get from the role?
In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to the FCA's response to operational incidents impacting the resilience of regulated firms. Working as part of a close-knit team, you will work with a range of internal stakeholders within the FCA to ensure appropriate escalation and coordination between departments. In certain cases, you will also work with other UK authorities, such as the PRA, HMT, NCSC and others. You will also be involved in a variety of other pieces of work including supporting other team members and Seniors in contributing to international and domestic forums leading on scenario testing exercises with the financial services sector, as well as involvement in the governance of our incident management forums.

Minimum
- Prior experience of working using case management techniques and disciplines
- Prior experience engaging with stakeholders internally and externally
- Prior experience of reviewing, analysing and/or assessing information from various sources to make sound judgements
Essential
- Experience of working in the financial sector
- Experience across several technology & cyber resilience management domains / frameworks
- Good oral communication skills including clear and effective presentation to both internal and external audiences
- Good analytical capability with appropriate application of judgement and diligence; can demonstrate taking pride in work and ensuring it is of the highest standard
- Good interpersonal skills with evidence of team working, confidence and credibility, and an ability to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Track record of being able to respond to fast moving incidents, including providing briefings to seniors
- Exposure to and understanding of resilience management frameworks (e.g. COBIT, NIST, ITIL)
- Good judgement and attention to detail, including under time pressure
