Position Highlights
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of laboratory instrumentation or disciplines including but not limited to: supply inventory, quality control, calibration, reagent preparation, etc. Initiates and follows through corrective action.
- Accurately performs basic to complex clinical laboratory tests utilizing theoretical knowledge and independent judgment in addition to established protocol, techniques and equipment manuals.
- Maintains proficiency and demonstrates competency in performing laboratory functions.
- Communicate laboratory data and pertinent technical information to appropriate departments and individuals in an accurate and timely fashion. Includes verbal as well as electronic means.
- Critique, correlate and differentiate results of tests utilizing theoretical knowledge and independent judgment in addition to established protocol, techniques and equipment manuals. Assess the validity of results which appear unusual, or which may differ significantly from previous results or expected values.
- Participate with development of protocols, lab manuals, new instrumentation, lab QA or other laboratory developmental activities.
- Provide instruction and/or perform specimen collection.
- Shares lab call for nights, weekends and holidays.
