Description

Position Summary/Objective

The Robot Cell operator in an aluminum foundry is responsible for operating, monitoring and maintaining the robotic cell used in the aluminum casting and manufacturing processes. This role ensures that the robotic cell operates smoothly and efficiently while meeting production schedules and maintaining quality standards. The operator will troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on the robot and associated equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and high-quality production output.

Essential Functions

  1. Operate robotic systems to automate tasks such as trimming and finishing within the aluminum foundry environment.

     2.Inspect castings for quality, ensuring they meet required specifications and standards. Perform routine                  checks and adjust robot programming as needed to maintain product quality.

   3. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues with robotic equipment. Report major                           malfunctions to the maintenance team and work closely to resolve technical issues.

      4. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures within the robot cell area. Follow all company            safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PE) and identify potential hazards.

          5. Make necessary adjustments to accommodate different production runs and material specifications.

          6. Maintain accurate documentation of robot cell performance, maintenance activities and any downtime.

 

Qualifications


Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

 

 

Desired Education and Experience: Technical certification in robotics, automation, or industrial manufacturing is a plus.

Competencies  

  1. Strong attention to detail.
  2. Problem-solving abilities.
  3. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  4. Familiarity with robot programming tools.

Work Environment

Foundry environment with exposure to high temperatures, noise and potential hazards. Personal protection equipment (PPE) is required, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection and steel toed boots.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  1. Strong problem solving abilities to address issues with robotic system.
