Summary:
The MEP Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works on construction projects. This role ensures that all MEP installations comply with project specifications, company standards, industry codes, and safety regulations. The manager will lead quality control activities, supervise inspection teams, and coordinate with project stakeholders to maintain high-quality standards throughout the construction lifecycle.
Job Description:
Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures for MEP activities on construction sites.
Monitor and inspect MEP installations to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and relevant codes.
Coordinate and lead quality audits, inspections, and tests on MEP works.
Review and approve MEP materials, equipment, and workmanship for quality standards.
Manage documentation related to quality control, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans.
Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve quality issues promptly.
Provide technical guidance and training to quality control teams and site staff regarding MEP quality standards.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during quality inspections.
Conduct root cause analysis for defects or quality failures and implement preventive measures.
Stay updated with latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices related to MEP quality control.
Assist in preparation for external audits and certification processes.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in MEP construction quality.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in MEP quality control in building construction projects.
Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction processes, and quality standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, IPC).
Proven experience in conducting inspections, audits, and managing quality documentation.
Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
Proficient with quality management software and MS Office.
Relevant certifications in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) are a plus.
