Job Description
What is the opportunity?
RBC Cards is one of the leading credit card businesses in Canada and is a strong contributor to Canadian Banking’s revenues and profits. The business has grown tremendously in the last five years, driven by our strong suite of Credit Card products and innovative strategy.
In this role, you will be accountable for the strategy, execution and delivery in support of RBC’s Everyday Cards product portfolio, with a specific focus on expansion and growth opportunities in the everyday rewards and cash back segments. You will synthesize and execute strategies across channels and multiple partners and stakeholders. You will own the overall financial goals of the business and lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives. You will manage both internal and external strategic relationships with the goal of delivering superior partnership and P&L / Product management enabling RBC to meet and exceed business drivers and annual profitability objectives. You will also own the relationship with RBC Insurance to manage and optimize embedded insurances and Balance Protector products.
What will you do?
P&L management for the Everyday Cards portfolio (Cashback, ION/ION+) responsible for strategy, forecasting, product features and development, promotion, pricing and process enhancements for revenue optimization
Responsible for product management including planning, creating business cases, setting growth objectives and managing key revenue drivers
You will lead financial forecasting & reporting, and the development of strategies that will grow RBC’s market share in this segment
Responsible for overall positioning and branding of the portfolio as well as the management of the go-to-market strategy
Liaise with Insurance Business, Creditor Business as well as third party vendors on pricing, growing the business and adhering to the regulatory framework
Identify performance trends and recommend initiatives to increase competitiveness
Continuously monitor performance and deliver results at the monthly and quarterly forums with business insights to assess performance
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills to build and maintain effective working relationships and elicit cooperation from internal partners
Strategic business sense with planning and implementation capabilities, strategic thinking and negotiation skills
Demonstrated ability to lead change
Understanding of key credit card business drivers with strong financial analysis skills
Excellent critical thinking skills with ability to resolve issues through innovative solutions
Excellent communication skills (listening, understanding and responding)
Strong client focus/orientation
Attention to detail
Proven time and self-management skills
Demonstrated experience within the credit card industry is strongly preferred.
Nice to have:
Experience developing new products and capabilities
