What does a great Risk Director do at Fiserv?

At Fiserv, our Risk Director plays a pivotal role in leading a team of skilled fraud professionals to drive financial risk reduction for our clients. Collaborating closely with the Risk Office Leadership team, you will shape strategies to fortify our clients' financial security.

What you will do:

  • Manage a team of 10-15 dedicated fraud prevention professionals offering managed fraud mitigation services to Fiserv's Financial Institution clients within the Risk Office.
  • Provide direct and indirect leadership to achieve critical strategic objectives of the department.
  • Define strategies for support, resourcing, and team knowledge to meet departmental goals effectively.
  • Collaborate regularly with Risk Office leadership peers to ensure policies align with departmental objectives and measure their impact consistently.
  • Spearhead department results and represent the Risk Office in cross-functional Fiserv settings.
  • Support Risk Office team members in team development, optimizing support, and overcoming daily operational barriers.
  • Handle escalations promptly and adjust team policies when necessary for optimal alignment.
  • Evaluate KPI appropriateness, review team performance, celebrate successes, and devise remediation strategies for unmet objectives.
  • Develop talent within the team, including identifying new talent and enhancing existing skills.
  • Influence peers, team members, senior leaders, and clients to support strategic goals effectively.
  • Manage assignments, objectives, and fulfillment activities with passion and focused energy.
  • Identify and remedy Risk Office support gaps to improve efficiency, engagement, and productivity.
  • Drive organizational awareness to benefit the Risk Office team and its goals consistently.
  • Deliver concise, deliberate, and direct executive-level communications.
  • Act swiftly in problem-solving, partnership-building, and aligning support needs for issue resolution.
  • Creatively solve resource challenges, challenge the status quo, and adjust processes based on facts.
  • Monitor metrics, team goals, and initiatives, adapting quickly as needed for success.
  • Understand end-to-end integration of tools and systems in the Risk Office ecosystem to set the team up for success.

Experience you'll need to have:

  • Demonstrated success in leading strategic and people management functions.
  • Prior experience managing large teams supporting business-to-business service functions.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Advanced problem-solving abilities, superior communication skills, and adept navigation across Fiserv departments.
  • Proficient in moving within organizational structures and influencing consensus effectively.
  • Skilled at diffusing challenges, building culture, and providing exceptional leadership in strategic and people management functions.
  • Highly organized with a logical approach to delivery.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Background in the card processing or fraud detection industry
