POSITION:                  Budget Analyst

SALARY:                    $47.18 $50.06 per hour DOE

REPORTS TO:           Revenue Cycle Director

LOCATION:                Purchased/Referred Care, Nespelem, WA 

 

Basic Functions:      This is an Exempt position.The Budget Analyst for the Purchased/Referred Care (PRC) Department is responsible for developing, monitoring, analyzing, and forecasting budgets in support of PRC operations. This position ensures fiscal accountability and compliance with tribal, federal, and grant funding requirements. The Budget Analyst provides detailed financial reports, advises management on budgetary matters, and assists with strategic financial planning to maximize resources for the PRC Department.

Qualifications


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or related work.
  • Experience in a healthcare or tribal government setting preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the Tribe’s insurance requirements.
  • CPA, CGFM, or related certification preferred but not required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Requires knowledge of budget preparation, financial analysis, and fiscal management practices.
  • Requires understanding of healthcare funding streams, including Indian Health Service (IHS) Purchased/Referred Care regulations.
  • Requires skill in preparing clear, accurate, and comprehensive financial reports.
  • Requires proficiency with financial software, spreadsheets, and database applications.
  • Requires knowledge of applicable federal, tribal, and state regulations.
  • Requires strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply financial policies, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple budgets and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with program staff and leadership.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment.
  • Work is primarily sedentary, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • May require occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

 

TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.

 

If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.  In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances.  If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
