The Woodlands Country Club offers four clubhouses at four distinct locations, racquet sports, and five golf courses woven throughout the Woodlands community near Houston, Texas.
The Tournament Course
Designed by Bruce Devlin and Robert Von Hagge, the Tournament Course is the current host of the PGA Tour Champions Insperity Invitational and boasts a deep history of PGA Tour competition.
The Player Course
The Player Course, designed by legendary golfer Gary Player, offers Members a true test of their shot making skills to navigate the water features and bunkers. It’s considered one of the most difficult of the five courses.
The Palmer Course
Designed by the King himself, Arnold Palmer, the Palmer Course consists of 27 holes of golf. This course is a Member favorite, providing a fun and fair golf experience that wraps its way around the Palmer clubhouse.
The North and West Courses (Trails)
The Trails property is home to The Woodlands Country Club’s original 18 holes. Today, the Trails has been revitalized and expanded into a vibrant two-course, 36-hole venue, with both North and West courses.
REGIONAL SUPERINTENDENT
Main duties will be to oversee the operations and day-to-day activities for 99 holes of golf through maintaining quality standards, developing and retaining maintenance employees and exceeding members expectations. Must be able to do this in a consistent manner while staying with the established annual budget. Initial responsibilities for directly managing four superintendents and a team consisting of over 130 employees.
Primary Responsibilities:
Daily communication with General Manager/Golf Professional on golf course conditions and playability. Promotes Arcis Golf’s philosophies throughout the golf course to both employees, members and their guests. Conducts monthly golf course audit. Directs and delegates to Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Irrigation Technician, and Mechanic. Reviews of the monthly preliminary and final profit / loss statements with the Superintendents and General Manager and all the Clubs. Required to keep all permits pertaining to maintenance department up to date. Must develop and post Maintenance Plan and Maintenance Standards. Must have knowledge of irrigation systems inclusive of programming, maintenance, trouble shooting, scheduling, moisture control and pump station management. Must have the ability to trouble shoot agronomic problems that may occur on the golf course. Must be fully capable of application equipment calibration and operation. Must have considerable understanding of golf course maintenance equipment. Responsible for the Human Resources functions of the maintenance department by controlling turnover, motivating employees, focusing on employee development and retention and participating in regular employee meetings. Always provides a professional image through appearance and dress. Ensures golf course follows all federal, state and local laws.
Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Qualifications:
Education / Experience: Two or Four year Turf grass Maintenance degree and supervisory experience required. 5-8 years prior golf course experience with progressive responsibility required. Multiple site operator preferred. Must hold a State Certified Pesticide License. Special consideration will be given to those who exhibit exemplary performance.

- The major responsibility in this position is to oversee the day to day activities of the golf course maintenance department. Therefore a significant portion of time will be spent moving about the property listening and working with the maintenance crew. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills will be used. This person will need to have strong speaking, reading and writing skills, for effective communication throughout the golf course.
- The majority of time is spent organizing maintenance activities. A portion of time will be spent in scheduling and implementing effective agronomic strategies, including upkeep, irrigation, and mechanical repairs.
- This person will occasionally assist in carrying heavy items requiring lifting of up to 70 pounds. He or she will also spend some time moving about the golf course overseeing the grounds crew.
