Duties

Analyzes patterns and trends to determine appropriate, effective, and economical prescribing and dispensing of drugs.,Serve on a variety of committees, boards, and other bodies representing the pharmacy specialty and providing authoritative input on pharmacy related matters.,Monitor the dispensing of pharmaceuticals in military treatment and allied facilities.,Evaluate and prepare reports on the impact of alternative drug therapies employing pharmacoeconomic tools such as cost-benefit analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-utility analysis, or cost-minimization analysis.,Participate in, conduct, or monitor studies involving pharmaceuticals and pharmacy related issues.,Prepare or conduct training of physicians, pharmacists, and other health care providers on the cost-effective use of drugs and other pharmaceuticals.,Recommend or initiate changes and updates to instructions, regulations and other guidance as needed.,Analyzes patterns and trends to determine appropriate, effective, and economical prescribing and dispensing of drugs.

Qualifications

ho May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education/experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Pharmacist: Education: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirement above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0660 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status. Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, a territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Medical Requirement: Must be able to distinguish basic colors. Specialized Experience: One year of professional pharmacy experience which includes dispensing medication, preparing pharmaceuticals, OR providing medication counseling to patients.

Education

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes. Recruitment or relocation incentives MAY be authorized for highly qualified candidates. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position is designated as Mission Essential.
